The main production facility and game design centre of Gemini Games is based in Telford, Shropshire, UK which is approx 35 miles west of Birmingham, in Central England.
Originally called Gemini Electronic Machine Services Limited, or Gemini EMS the company was formed by Jem Symmonds in 1998 primarily as a subcontract manufacturer within the gaming industry, building large numbers of gaming machines for customers within the UK and Europe.
However the opportunities to develop its own product were soon recognised and the decision to recruit its own team of game designers and software engineers took effect.
The following years saw the company produce a number of successful games for both the UK and overseas markets, ‘Cash Bowl’, and ‘Big Ghoulies’ to name two of the most successful UK models.
Gemini soon became one of the market leaders within the UK for re-built awp games for the inland and seasonal arcade markets with its own brand of unique models and has now progressed to a main stream design house developing new games on a number of platforms. |
Currently 95% of all machines manufactured here in Telford are for the export market, in particular, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Eastern Europe, Singapore, Switzerland, to name but a few.
From humble beginnings with 3 employees and 1200 sq ft unit in 1998, and a turnover of £150,000, the newly named “Gemini Games Limited” now employs around 25 staff and has approx 18000sq ft of factory space and is on target to achieve a turnover in excess of £5m in 2005
Gemini Games continues to grow year on year, and plans are now in place to increase our development and manufacturing capability in the short/medium term giving us the opportunity to take full advantage of the increasing opportunities available for gaming products around the world. |
